Hi. My name is Stephanie Russell, and I am a counsellor and psychotherapist, with a focus on transgender, gender diverse, and sexually diverse issues. I have more than eight years’ experience helping LGBTIQ+ people. My aim is to help people live the best life they can, to support them to achieve their life-goals and find ways to make their dreams come true.

My lived experience includes transgender identity realisation. I have a family with children and grandchildren, a long and varied career, and a variety of interests and hobbies. My work experience has ranged across young and old, and has addressed diverse issues, including: gender identity and sexual orientation, dementia, depression and suicidality, self-harm, relationship issues, and anxiety.

My main aim is to provide a safe and caring space for the client where they feel comfortable to share their concerns. I am non-judgemental and aim to build an empathic relationship with the client. For each client, I endeavour to develop an individualised program that will work towards their desired goals in a systematic and structured way.

The practice is situated in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, a short drive from the Adelaide CBD. For those who value a peaceful setting, sessions may be held in the ‘Serenity Garden’, or shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), weather permitting.
